From December 11 to 12, 2018, the“Overseas Academicians’ Campus Travel” of Hebei Administration of Foreign Experts Affairs (HAFEA) was held in Tangshan Normal University. This activity hopes to build a new platform for introducing overseas talents, and provide opportunities for the in-depth cooperation with national and foreign research institutions.

At 14:00 p.m. on December 11, Prof. Wang Ying, Party Committee Secretary of Tangshan Normal University, Prof. Du Caiqin, President of Tangshan Normal University, Vice-President Sun Lijun, met Dr. Jesús Guanche Pérez, Dr. Refilwe Morongwa Ramagoshi, Deputy Director of HAFEA, Zhang Xuefeng, Director of Tangshan Administration of Foreign Experts Affairs, Yang Jingyuan, Dr. Yangzhen and Deputy Director of International Exchange Center, Wang Yunli from Hebei Foreign Studies University, Ms Qiao Dan from HAFEA and Mr. Dong Yinshan from Tangshan Administration of Foreign Experts Affairs at the meeting room. Li Lina, Director of the International Exchange Center, presided over the meeting.

President Du Caiqin made a welcome speech. President Du extended warm welcome and thanks to the academicians, experts and leaders of “Overseas Academicians Campus Travel”, and introduced the basic situation of teaching, scientific research, personnel training of our university. Deputy Director Zhang Xuefeng introduced the development of “Overseas Academicians Campus Travel” in universities of Hebei Province, and foreign academicians’ scientific research and academic achievements. The student representatives of the Art Department of our university presented the handicraft gifts to two academicians. The two foreign academicians loved the traditional cultural and artistic works of the students of the Art Department very much and gave them high praise. They took pictures with the student representatives.

From 14:30 p.m. to 18:30 p.m., Dr. Jesús Guanche Pérez and Dr. Refilwe Morongwa Ramagoshi gave lectures entitled “Ameryrica Latina y el caribe: sus potencialidades” , and “Economic and Educational Relations between China and South Africa” respectively in the academic lecture hall. Vice President Sun Lijun presided over the lecture. More than 400 teachers and students participated in the lecture.

On the afternoon of December 11, Dr. Jesús Guanche Pérez and Dr. Refilwe Morongwa Ramagoshi visited Jidong Calligraphy and Painting Art Museum, the internship base for foreign students of our university. The Director, Mr. Chen Qizhuang, explained the traditional Chinese calligraphy and paintings for the academicians, and taught the academicians wrote the Chinese character “Fu”. The two academicians showed great interest in the art of calligraphy and wrote the Chinese character “Fu” by themselves.

The “Overseas Academician Campus Travel - Tangshan Normal University” has been fully affirmed by Vice Director Zhang Xuefeng and two foreign academicians. Provincial and municipal leaders have expressed their desire to actively promote exchanges and cooperation between our university and higher education in Latin America and Africa, to build a new international exchange platform for our university and to provide a new way for our in-depth cooperation with foreign research institutes.
