On the morning of October 23, 2018, Prof. Yang Fei, vice-president and doctoral supervisor of the University of Texas at Arlington, USA, visited our school and gave lectures. On behalf of the president of the University, Dr. Carol Hsiao, Professor Yang signed a friendly agreement with us. President Du Caiqin participated in meetings and other activities. Student Office, Educational Administration Office, Scientific Research Office, History, Culture and Law Department, Music Department, Art Department, Economic Management Department, International Exchange Center and other departments also attended the signing ceremony.
The signing ceremony was held in the conference room. Professor Du Caiqin gave a welcome speech and gave an introduction about teaching, scientific research, faculty and educational program of the school to Professor Yang Fei. Professor Yang Fei introduced the characteristics of the University of Texas at Arlington, the advantageous disciplines and scientific research. The meeting broadcast videos and briefings of the two schools. The two sides held a signing ceremony after talking on teaching, scientific research and student exchanges.
After the signing ceremony, Professor Yang Fei gave a lecture entitled “Entrepreneurship: Globalization, Innovation and Development” for our students. All the staff and faculty of the International Exchange Center, all the staff and faculty of the League Committee, some representatives of teachers and more than 400 students attended the lecture.
Texas State University at Arlington is a state university that integrates teaching, research and public services. Founded in 1895, the school has 73 master’s degree programs and 52 doctoral programs. Majors include: Applied and Pure Science, Business and Administration, Computer and Mathematics, Art and Design, Health and Medicine, Humanities, Law, Sociology and Media Communication. The School of Engineering is the second largest engineering college in Texas, and the School of Nursing has become one of the largest nursing colleges in the United States. At present, the University of Texas at Arlington has signed cooperation agreements with the People’s University of China, Northeast University, Tongji University, Beijing Jiaotong University, Beijing University of Science and Technology and other universities.
